Challenge Games 2013

The Students and Staff of Mackay District Special School at the 2013 Townsville Challenge Games.
Over the past 3 years, students from Mackay District Special School have travelled to Townsville to participate in the 2 day Townsville Challenge Games. The games have been running for nearly 20 years and are held during the last week of July. The purpose of the Challenge Games is to provide fun, friendship and participation in a range of sport and fun activities for students with similar abilities. Our students participated in activities which included running, jumping, throwing and team events plus many novelty activities The Challenge Games is a celebration of each student’s sporting ability. Each student is a winner receiving ribbons for participation which adorn their shirts and hats by the end of the games. The two days bring a sense of achievement and pride to students, families and friends.
The highlights of the games are the Opening Ceremony, the evening disco and sleeping in a holiday apartment for 2 nights with friends and school staff.
